About Conjunto Afro-Son:
In the year 2008, Conjunto AFRO-SON was formed and spearheaded by Bobby Escoto. Conjunto AFRO-SON is a collaboration of seven talented musicians from different parts of North, Central and South America living in Los Angeles. Significantly, all members of Conjunto AFRO-SON life-long musical inspirations are Salsa pioneers like Conjunto Libre, Johnny Pacheco, Pete "Conde" Rodriguez, Hector Casanova and Willie Colon. AFRO-SON’s main role is to perform as back-up band for top Soneros from New York. Due to their members extensive educational background and training from places like Cuba, New York and Puerto Rico, they transcend in the industry and are able to bring their talent and music to the city of Los Angeles. What makes AFRO-SON unique and extraordinary is the group’s eminent ability to continue the legacy of Conjunto music at its best.
